Community Petition Calls for Removal of GFYHA Board Members

Community Petition Calls for Removal of GFYHA Board Members

Grand Forks, ND (Feb 21, 2024) - A grassroots movement has emerged in Grand Forks, with community members rallying behind a petition calling for the removal of current board members of the Grand Forks Youth Hockey Association (GFYHA). The petition, initiated by a concerned member of the community, highlights what many see as a pattern of neglect and mismanagement by the current leadership.

The petition, hosted on change.org, outlines several key grievances against the current GFYHA Board. These include allegations of a lack of transparency in decision-making processes, failure to prioritize the needs of GFYHA members, and concerns about the ethical conduct of certain board members.

"The GFYHA Board has a responsibility to act in the best interests of the youth hockey community," said the petition's organizer. "Unfortunately, their recent actions have fallen short of this standard. It's time for a change."

Since its launch, the petition has had great success gaining signatures from concerned community members. Supporters of the petition are calling on all concerned members of the Grand Forks community to join them in demanding accountability from the GFYHA Board.

Additionally, the GFYHA Board has been placed on probation by North Dakota Amateur Hockey for failure to follow their own bylaws, policies, and procedures.

"Our children deserve leaders who will prioritize their well-being and act with integrity," said one supporter. "It's time for us to come together and demand better."
